I recently finished work in an amazing extension in Edinburgh. The couple wanted to add a bespoke look to shop bought cabinets and decided on crown cut European oak worktops and island. The biggest issue was the supporting pillar in the middle of the kitchen. The customers wanted to maximize storage in the island as well as needing the correct amount of space around the island to comply with building regulations. This was achieved by having a hinged door to match the drawers in front of the pillar, which houses shelving behind.

I also installed matching shelving above the worktops. The customers later decided they wanted oak facings around a feature window which I fitted along with oak skirting which turned out to be a great challenge cutting all the angles.
